Fair Use Analysis

As a scholar it is also your responsibility to do a Fair Use Analysis, especially if you use content that is protected by Copyright (e.g. images, graphs/charts, interviews, videos, music, etc.). You should also explore the U.S. Copyright Office’s FAQ on Fair Use.

For legal protection reasons, it is recommended that for every item you use under the fair use clause of the Copyright Act that you complete a Fair Use Analysis and keep it on file for three years following the last date of use of the item.
